When Grumpy finished Gator High School, he took all his savings and enrolled in culinary school. After Grumpy graduated, he knew that if he wanted the best of tastes in his BBQ and grilled foods, he would need to make his own spices. Grumpy also realized that all the best spices weren't made in a school, but by real people who cooked BBQ everyday. Grumpy went to Texas and studied the recipes and techniques of some of the best Pitmasters. Then Grumpy went to Memphis, and Kansas City, to study their methods. Finally Grumpy went to the Carolinas and learned from the best cooks there.
Grumpy also realized that there were more foods than just BBQ, so he went to California to learn about his favorite cut of beef on the grill, Tri-Tip.
He also went to New England and down the East Coast to learn about seafood and how different spices enhanced the delicate flavors of fish, and other seafood.
Finally Grumpy went to Florida and studied spices that combined the flavors of different citrus with seafood and poultry. In South Florida, Grumpy learned from the best Hispanic cooks how to bring out the best flavors in traditional pork dishes and poultry from Cuba and South and Central America.
After all this research, Grumpy created the Grumpy Gator spices, with a selection that will enhance any food you want to cook.
As Grumpy began to sell his own spices he became aware that not all folks who sold spices were fair with their shipping charges.
